Senior Contracts Officer

Are you passionate about contract management and legal compliance? Monash Sustainable Development Institute is seeking a Senior Contracts Officer to provide expert support on research and consulting contracts. As part of our dynamic team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that contracts align with academic needs, comply with legal requirements, and foster collaborative relationships.

Your role:

• Expert Guidance: Provide advice and support to staff and stakeholders on contract negotiation and management. Liaise with the Office of the General Counsel and contracting parties to ensure contracts meet academic requirements and legal standards
• Strategic Coordination: Coordinate proposal, contract, and terms reviews for tender submissions to government, funders, and corporates
• Process Excellence: Develop, implement, and maintain local proposal and contract management processes aligned with University policies. Monitor service level standards for contract negotiations
• Post-Award Management: Maintain processes and reports for monitoring contractual obligations, including intellectual property use, publication requirements, and timely variations
• Efficient Record Keeping: Establish effective record management and reporting approaches to support project workflows
• Positive Culture: Contribute to an efficient and positive organisational culture focused on contract management and governance
• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives and reduce contract development time
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external contacts
• Operational Solutions: Investigate and resolve operational issues on behalf of the Finance and Contracts Manager
